01 Jun 2017 - 10 Jun 2017

Just announced, and now open for booking: this year’s opening event and headliners are Cornish favourites The Fisherman’s Friends!

They’re singing at Launceston Town Hall on Thursday, 1st June 2017 (8.00pm start — doors open at 7.00pm).

The Charles Causley Festival is delighted to welcome the original ‘buoy band’ from Port Isaac, The Fisherman’s Friends, with a full catch of new material as well as some old favourites.

We’re looking forward to getting into the fish van and playing again. We’re not very Rock’n’Roll — more Born to be Mild than Wild — but we love performing in Cornwall.”

The Fisherman’s Friends have widely been credited with starting the revival of interest in shanty-style singing, but a cornerstone of their success has been their constantly evolving and expanding repertoire.

From Glastonbury to Launceston: this concert will kick-start the 2017 Centenary Festival, and it promises to be an evening that no-one will forget!

Tickets are priced at £22.00 each, for reserved seats. You can book through the Cornish Riviera Box Office by clicking HERE .

Book early! Tickets are expected to sell out very quickly for this event: it’s a really great way of starting off this year’s Charles Causley Centenary Festival.
