Celebrate Cornwall’s rich garden heritage and be inspired by the South West’s first major horticultural showcase of the year 2017.
The 106th Cornwall Spring Flower Show will take place on 1st and 2nd of April 2017 at the stunning Boconnoc Estate near Lostwithiel.
It is the first major flower show of the horticultural year in the UK and where committed gardeners and their families come for their first major horticultural spend of the year.
Over 6000 garden enthusiasts gather from across the whole South West, from north of the country and, this year, from Finland, for the successful two-day event.
Over 100 traders and exhibitors return each year because it is always a good and profitable show for them, whatever the weather.
Amongst others, there are major competitive classes for daffodils, camellias, rhododendrons and woodies. These are entered both by individuals and major gardens of Cornwall. One year when the International Camelia Society had their annual conference in Falmouth they visited the Show and said that it was the best show of camellias that they had ever seen.
There are some layout changes to the Show which will soon become apparent to regular visitors. The main marquee is larger and will be moved onto the lawn nearest Boconnoc House. The marquee in the Dorothy Garden will be dedicated to children’s activities and we are planning to make use of the garden for more traders. The Seating marquee will have a drinks stand and a bar. An important feature will be the use of the Garden Room in Boconnoc House for lectures, Gardeners’ Questions and prize giving.
