General Bus Info

Buses are now provided by several bus companies.
The Padstow area (south of the River Camel) is served by the following buses:
Plymouth City Bus number 11A – Padstow to Bodmin Parkway station via Wadebridge
First Kernow bus number 56 – Padstow to Newquay via Newquay airport.
North of the river is also served by the First Kernow Bus number 95,96 – Wadebridge to Camelford via St Minver, Rock, Trebetherick, Polzeath, Port Isaac and Delabole.

General Train Info

There is only one main train line running through the centre of Cornwall with a few branch lines. The stations are: Saltash, St Germans, Liskeard, Bodmin, Lostwithiel, Par, St Austell, Truro, Redruth, Camborne, Hayle, St Erth, Penzance.

The nearest train station to Padstow is Bodmin Parkway*

N.B. Google will tell you that the nearest train station is either Roche or St Columb Road.  Whilst these are geograhically slightly nearer they are small stations on the Newquay to Par branchline and are not easily accessible by public transport.

For Looe branch line, change at Liskeard. For Newquay branch line, change at Par, For Falmouth change at Truro. For St Ives change at St Erth.

Padstow Park and Ride:

Padstow Park and Ride is situated on the Wadebridge Road A389, just before Tesco. A bus runs every 15 minutes to take you into town. £4 per car all day. Open Easter, May Day and Spring Bank Holiday to end of September. Car park open 10am – 10pm. First bus from 1030 and last bus 6pm.   Telephone:07747 602716

Rock Water Taxi:

Rock Water Taxi provides an evening service between Rock and Padstow in a 10.00mt twin jet powered catamaran, this has undercover accommodation and heating, which will make those trips in early spring or late summer more comfortable, as well as those rare occasions we have rain!  The water taxi is also available for private charter, see Day Charter. Padstow to Rock Ferry:

A foot ferry runs between Padstow and Rock daily.  At high tide it runs from the outer harbour every 15-20 minutes and from Lower Beach at low tide every 15-20 minutes.  Please check the blue board at the outer harbour wall for times and departure points.
