Cardinham Woods, located near Bodmin, is a beautiful mixed woodland offering a range of activities to suit the whole family and offers a great value day out.

Cardinham is famed for its walking trails, from easy routes for beginners to longer walks that include steep valley climbs and fantastic views. You can even glimpse the past as you discover the old lead and silver mine of Wheal Glynn.

For little legs and families with pushchairs there is an easy access trail where you can take part in a fun activity trail that brings the popular ‘The Highway Rat’ story to life. Head out on a woodland journey with the Highway Rat and all the characters from the popular story by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

Looking for something a bit more exhilarating? Dig out the mountain bike and take on the 12km Bodmin Beast Trail with the option of adding in some extra technical sections. No bike? No problem. Bike hire is available through Pre booking is advised to avoid disappointment, call 01208 892758.

Family and dog friendly, there is loads of outside seating in the summer where you can sit and watch the children in the play area or in the winter snuggle inside and sit inside next to a lovely roaring log fire.
