BLACK PRINCE FLOWER BOAT FESTIVAL

The Black Prince Flower Boat Procession (Cornwall’s 3rd Biggest May Day event) is held every May Monday Bank holiday in the villages of Millbrook, Kingsand and Cawsand. It is an age old tradition which was revived in 1986 celebrating the coming of summer and saying farewell to the winter. This colourful spectacle includes Maypole dancing, singing, Town criers and the launching of ‘the Black Prince’ a flower boat, from Cawsand beach.

More and more people are getting involved in this beautiful traditional event. Its open to everyone. If you join in the procession then wear red and white.
