Mawgan Porth is in a quiet sandy bay some five miles north of Newquay. Settled at the bottom of the valley, its large sheltered beach sits at the bottom of steep cliffs, and is a highly popular family holiday spot. It has excellent lifeguard facilities from April to September. The beach is dog friendly all year round.

The village sits around the edge of the beach offering car parking, toilets, pub, cafe, shops and restaurants.   Trevarrian sits at the top of the hill above Mawgan Porth.
