PADSTOW

Padstow has 4 main carparks:

Harbour Car Park is the nearest to the harbour and is the  run by the Padstow Harbour Commissioners. You can pay by cash, card or Ringo.

Railway Car Park (at the bottom of Station Road PL28 8DA) and the Lawns Car Park (opposite the Old School on School Hill PL28 8EB are run by Padstow Town Council.  (click here for more info).  Both of these car parks are payable using Ringo: Railway Car Park is location code 2849 and Lawns Car Park is location code 2848 and the number to call is 01872 884466.

Link Road Car Park is run by Cornwall Council and is situated by the fire station (click here for more info).  You can pay for your parking via JustPark, the location code is 8227 and you need to call 01872 672727.

Padstow Main Road Car Park is situated on the A389. postcode PL28 8EX.  Open every day (weather permitting) Easter – end October.  Pay & Display car park and accepts credit/debit cards, contactless, chip and pin and payment via phone and text as well as JustPark.

Padstow Main Road Car Park is a 10 minute walk to the harbour.   Alternatively, local bus number 11 or 56 can take you to and from town. For ticket information and timetables please see Go Cornwall Bus.

Longer term overnight/multi-day and weekly parking is available at Trevethan Farm, the access to which is immediately after Tesco (PL28 8EL), the entrance is on the same side of the road, in Sarah’s Lane. Cars– from £3.50 per day/part day or £26 per week (8 days/part days). Contact 07909 661395 or email trevethanfarm@outlook.com for more information. Motorhomes can be accommodated on request but must be self sufficient. Ideal if you are walking the coast path and wish to leave your car in Padstow for a few days.

Leaving your car on the streets is not recommended, the roads are very narrow and access is required at all times for local residents and businesses.

During the main season there is an additional car park:

Spaces are for parking only, there are no designated set down / collection points.  Coaches must pay the coach tariff (£8.00) and are subject to a maximum 4 hour stay. Click here for details.

Have you received a parking fine which you feel is unjust?

If you have received a parking fine that you feel is unjust you should appeal in the first instance to the Company issuing the PCN.

Parking companies are regulated through their membership of the two main trade associations. These are the British Parking Association (BPA) and the International Parking Community (IPC).  The BPA and the IPC have recently launched a new single industry code of practice, which their members must follow.  If a private parking company does not responsibly follow this new code in line with the period of transition, they risk being banned from being able to issue parking charges.  You can view the Code of Practice here.

There are some mitigating circumstances for which you can appeal or get a reduced fine under the new code:

Examples of mitigating circumstances – which mean parking firms must reduce your fine to £20 for a period of 14 days include:

• If you made a major keying error – such as inputting a wrong letter, missing a letter, or inputting the wrong registration entirely – when paying for your stay.
• If you fall unwell, or are delayed by a medical appointment or as a result of childcare arrangements.
• If your vehicle has broken down.
• If you have a parking permit but failed to display it (and subsequently are able to provide a copy of your permit).
• If you failed to dispay your Blue Badge but are subsequently able to provide a copy of it.
• If one or more payment machines were out of operation and no alternative payment options (such as paying via an app) were available.

If you feel that the PCN issuing company has breached the code then you should contact the IPC.

There are 3 public conveniences in Padstow  which are maintained by Padstow Town Council. These conveniences are free of charge.

North Quay
Opening times: Daily from 10am every day excluding Christmas Day.
Facilities: Ladies and Gents.  Family room.  Disabled Toilet.

Railway 
Opening times: Daily from 10am every day excluding Christmas Day.
Facilities: Ladies and Gents.  Family room.  Disabled Toilet.

Cory
Opening times: Daily from 10am every day from Easter until Mid December
Facilities: Ladies.  Family room

Please note, the Town Council’s disabled toilet facilities operate as part of the National Key Scheme and require a Radar key to use.  For more information about Radar Keys, click on this link.

TREVONE

There are public toilets in Trevone which are maintained by Trevone Bay Stores (01841 520275)
These toilets require 50p to enter with ladies, gents, disabled and baby changing facilities available.
During quieter months the facility may close some sections, but are hoping to keep the disabled toilet available and maintained for everyone to use.
