Padstow, PL28 8BS

The Padstow Brewing Company is a fresh new award-winning independent microbrewery, based in one of the most popular towns in Cornwall. They offer a small range of artisan beers available in cask and bottles, using only the finest natural ingredients to produce beers that really do have a unique flavour and style.. As a husband and wife team, they work together at the brewery. Head Brewer is Caron (Brewster), she has the best palate and loves experimenting with the myriad of different hops and malts available. Des excels at the process and technology of brewing, and is best at drinking! Their background is commercial, so the move to brewing has been challenging but a lot of fun. They’ve been training with Dave Lang of the Forge Brewery in Devon – one of the most respected brewers in the South West, winner of the Overall Gold at the Tuckers Maltings Festival for three years in a row. And this year Dave scooped the Gold, Silver AND Bronze for the best beers over the 21-year lifetime of the competition. Amazing! Brewing started in January 2013 in a converted surf shower, testing out recipe ideas. The equipment was small but still too big for the tiny space; only one person could get in at a time. If you weren’t inside you were out, and if it rained you just got wet. Something had to give. They managed to find premises in Padstow where they live, and have set-up a much more practical brewery with a cold store and cask washing space. There are now several beers in the range and the challenge is to keep up with demand while organising all of the other tasks associated with setting up a new business. The beers are out in local pubs as fast as they are being made and they expect to recruit a multi-skilled team over the next few years to help cope with the expansion and allow time to develop new products and new markets.

Padstow Brewing Company have recently opened a shop in the centre of Padstow with a Tasting Room!  Customers are now able to buy beer and associated gifts in the heart of Padstow.  Alternatively you can enjoy an informal visit to the brewery with tutored tastings.
